Breakfast

All students in Jeffco Public Schools have access to free, healthy and nutritious school meals. For breakfast, students will be able to enter the cafeteria at 8:20 am and will need to exit by 8:35 am. No food is allowed outside of the cafeteria.

Lunch

Students may bring their own lunch from home, go through the line for a full school lunch, and/or purchase from the school's à la carte line. There is no cost for a school lunch. À la carte items are priced as marked.

7th and 8th grade students' lunch periods are based on their 4th period teacher. The lunch schedules are published on the Bell Schedule page of the school website.

Families can use SchoolCafé to view school menus and set up an account to add funds to their student's meal account, set limits for their student's à la carte purchases, and complete the Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) Combination Form. Completion of this form will help with additional education funding for schools and may allow for waivers of school-related fees.

Students must have a positive balance in their school meal account in order to purchase à la carte items; funds may be deposited into their account at any time. Families may add funds to their student's meal account using SchoolCafé or at the school with the kitchen staff. Families that would like to set limits on their students' purchase of à la carte offerings such as bottled beverages, milk, extra entrees, and snack items may indicate their choice using their SchoolCafé account.

Students may always bring their own lunches to school. Refrigeration and microwaves are not available for student use. Students that bring their own lunches from home will be expected to keep their lunches in their locker during the school day.

Menus and other information are available on the Jeffco Public Schools Food & Nutrition Services website.

Recess

All students have recess time during half of their lunch period. The lunchtime recess period is approximately 15 minutes and it takes some adjustment for students to successfully use that time. Here are some tips to get the most out of recess:

  • Stay within the boundaries: the lower field, the stairs, the pad and sidewalk areas outside the recess doors from by the gate and dumpsters to the corner, then in front of the pump house and on the monkey bars and wall ball areas.

  • Please stay off the hillside (it is steep and rocky), including the concreted stones below the corner of the gym, and refrain from going around the corner of the gym, behind the outbuildings, or sliding on the stair railing.

  • Dress for the weather! We go outside as long as it is above 20 degrees and it is not raining or snowing. It's all right to bring a coat and/or boots to lunch.

Recess information, including an annotated image of the recess area, is included in the Middle School Recess document. It is historically communicated in a Weekly Wednesday Update at the start of each school year.
